Biography

Gavin Truong is a board-certified internal medicine physician. He completed medical school at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, SC.  He went on to train at George Washington University in Washington DC, where he also served as Chief Resident. His clinical interests include primary care, chronic disease prevention and management, and refugee and asylum health. He is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia and Maryland.

Dr. Truong is an assistant professor at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He serves as a faculty advisor for the GW chapter of Physician for Human Rights Student Organization and is an educator for the pre-clinical curriculum and clinical clerkships. Dr. Truong’s current academic interests include the role of medical education in domestic global health, particularly for patients who are involuntarily displaced from their native home country.
