Biography

Ying X. Liu, MD, is a fellowship-trained Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon with The GW Medical Faculty Associates and an Assistant Professor at the GW School of Medicine & Health Sciences. Dr. Liu specializes in the medical and surgical management of complex benign gynecologic disorders including uterine fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic pain, and adnexal masses. Her practice focuses on minimally invasive procedures—laparoscopic and da Vinci robotic surgeries—that offer the benefits of smaller incisions, less pain, and faster recovery. 

Dr. Liu completed medical school at the University of Central Florida School of Medicine in 2016 and her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Emory University in 2020. She then completed a Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Fellowship in 2022 at Stony Brook Medicine. 

As a physician, Dr. Liu values patient-centered discussions, evidence-based treatments, and individualized care plans. She advocates for equitable access to healthcare and is passionate about education and mentorship. Her current research interest includes Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS), perioperative quality improvement initiatives, and digitalization of patient education.
