He specializes in complex medical dermatology, with an expertise in the comprehensive management of hidradenitis suppurativa, including both medical and surgical therapies. His clinical and academic interests also include rheumatologic dermatology — notably cutaneous lupus and dermatomyositis — autoimmune blistering diseases such as pemphigus vulgaris and bullous pemphigoid, scarring and non-scarring alopecia, and chronic inflammatory conditions such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and other itchy dermatology conditions.
Tjahjono graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa at Wake Forest University, earned his MD with honors from the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota, and completed his dermatology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
His expertise is nationally recognized, with his clinic listed as a preferred site by the Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation, the International Pemphigus and Pemphigoid Foundation, and the National Alopecia Areata Foundation. As a dedicated clinician-educator, Tjahjono is actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and is passionate about mentoring the next generation of dermatologists.
He remains at the forefront of dermatologic innovation, incorporating emerging therapies and clinical trial evidence into practice. Through research, education, and multidisciplinary collaboration, he is committed to advancing the field and improving outcomes for patients with some of the most stigmatized, understudied, and therapeutically complex skin diseases.
