Susan Kartiko, MD, PhD, FACS is an assistant professor of surgery at The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences. She is triple board certified in general surgery, surgical critical care, and neurocritical care. Dr. Kartiko completed medical school and training in general surgery at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. She completed her fellowship in surgical critical care at Boston University Medical Center. She worked at the University of Massachusetts-Baystate Medical Center from 2016-2019 in the Division of Trauma, Emergency Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care before being recruited to GW.
Dr. Kartiko has also published in multiple peer reviewed journals on her research topics of interest, including surgical education, critical care, trauma surgery, and geriatric trauma. She has received funding related to falls prevention research and post-injury traumatic stress disorders.
