Biography

Ndelela Nadine Mbuyi, MD is a Rheumatologist and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She also serves as program director of the rheumatology fellowship. Dr. Mbuyi completed her rheumatology fellowship at Brown University where she received training on the diagnosis and management of a broad range of rheumatic diseases.

She is dedicated to providing exceptional care to her patients and she is passionate about medical education. Her clinical interests include lupus, vasculitis, rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthropathies, crystalline arthropathies, and the management of rheumatic diseases in pregnancy. She has expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound having completed the rigorous Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists (USSONAR) training. She is certified in musculoskeletal ultrasound by the American College of Rheumatology.

Dr. Mbuyi has published various peer-reviewed articles in prominent rheumatology journals, she has presented her work at various local, national, and international conferences including the American College of Rheumatology Annual meeting, and she has earned several professional awards. She was selected to participate in the 2020 American College of Rheumatology/EULAR exchange program, an international academic exchange program designed to recognize outstanding early career faculty in rheumatology research and to promote international exchange of clinical and research skills. Dr. Mbuyi is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, and she is an active member of various professional societies including the American College of Rheumatology (ACR), the American College of Physicians (ACP), and the Association of Women in Rheumatology (AWIR).
