Biography

Luna Chaaban, MD, joined the department of Anesthesiology at The GW Medical Faculty Associates in Jan. 2025. She will be working at the GW Hospital in general anesthesia and critical care medicine settings.

Dr. Chaaban graduated from medical school at Saint Joseph University of Beirut in Lebanon. She then pursued an Anesthesiology/Critical Care residency at Hotel Dieu de France in Beirut, Lebanon; where she completed two years of residency. Dr. Chaaban then completed her residency in Anesthesiology at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center/ Case Western School of Medicine, followed by a Critical Care fellowship at the same institution. Dr. Chaaban then joined the Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine department at University Hospitals as an attending; where she worked as a general and a liver transplant anesthesiologist in the operating rooms, as well as an intensivist in the Surgical and Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit for two years. During her appointment at University Hospitals, she has served as chair of the Clinical Competence Committee for the critical care fellowship and was part of the anesthesia simulation lab team.

Dr. Chaaban’s interest are focused on medical education and resident training, as well as, mechanical circulatory support and liver transplants. 

She loves to travel, discover new cultures, and speaks four languages: Arabic, English, French, and Spanish.
