Hitan Kamdar, MBA, MS, to Serve as the Executive Director of Patient Access at The GW Medical Faculty Associates

ANNOUNCEMENT – The GW Medical Faculty Associates (GW MFA) welcomes Hitan Kamdar, MBA, MS, as executive director of patient access. Kamdar will be responsible for optimizing patient access to ambulatory care at the GW MFA. In this role, he will oversee call operations, the Unified Contact Center, provider capacity management, and referral management departments and activities – in addition to leading access projects across the organization to drive rapid and sustained improvement on our patient access metrics.

In this role, Kamdar will be responsible for providing leadership and direction, including communication and collaboration with senior leaders and staff, to deliver improved ambulatory access for GW MFA patients. He will also continue the work, with the Epic team, of transitioning the organization into the EMR, as well as partner with IS&T to identify and manage technology advancements to improve the access performance of the organization.

I will deploy a patient centered approach with a clear vision for creating a streamlined patient journey,” said Kamdar.



Kamdar joins the GW MFA from Michigan Medicine, the academic medical enterprise at the University of Michigan, where he most recently served as the administrative director of the Department of Radiology. Prior to this role, he served as the administrative director of patient access, where he developed a multi-year access plan addressing challenges and scaling for future enhancement outlines. Kamdar has also served as an operations manager of patient access at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. 



Kamdar holds a BS in electrical engineering, an MS in operations management, and an MBA from Kettering University in Flint, Michigan. 



He began serving as the executive director of patient access on Sep. 12, 2022.
