Washington, DC Inflammatory Muscle Disease Treatment
The GW Medical Faculty Associates Myositis Center is a multidisciplinary center focused on the evaluation and treatment of patients with inflammatory muscle diseases. The center provides clinical consultation to patients with established or suspected inflammatory muscle diseases.
Our Mission
The Center is a national referral site to provide comprehensive and multidisciplinary consultation to either establish a diagnosis or to provide a second opinion related to management of children and adults with inflammatory muscle diseases. The minimum patient age for this clinic is 8 years. The mission of the Center also encompasses research and education. To this end, a collaboration with the NIH has been established, and the involvement of graduate medical trainees has been secured.
Support for the Center
The center was envisioned directly by the motivated parents, and made possible by the generous grant, from the Cure Juvenile Myositis (Cure JM), a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a cure for these devastating diseases.
