Biography

Kelly DeWyer, AGPCNP-BC, AOCNP joined the GW MFA Department of Hematology & Oncology in 2022. She is currently practicing as a nurse practitioner at the Cancer Center, specializing in solid tumor malignancies. She is also a clinical instructor for the GW School of Nursing. 

She holds a BSN from Georgetown University and an MSN from Vanderbilt University where she was the recipient of the Amy Frances Brown Prize for Excellence in Writing. She began her nursing career in surgical oncology at MedStar Washington Hospital where she primarily cared for patients with complex GI and GYN malignancies, including the administration of IV and intraperitoneal chemotherapy. She has over seven years of experience as a private practice NP in oncology and benign/malignant hematology.  

DeWyer has advanced oncology certification and is passionate about diligent cancer screenings, quality of life and symptom management, patient empowerment, and evolving evidence-based practice in the nursing field.
