Jennifer has been a member of our Cardiac Surgery team for 17+ years. She has been involved in the peri-operative care of a variety of cardiac surgical patients, including the very first ECMO procedure at GW and our first transcatheter aortic valve replacement and percutaneous mitral valve repair, as well as with a variety of open-heart procedures including CABG, valve replacements and repairs, aortic surgery, surgical cardiac ablations, and more.
Throughout her time here, she has been actively involved in quality management and manages the Society of Thoracic Surgeon (STS) Cardiac Surgery Database for our patients to aid in quality improvement and to track surgical outcomes. She takes a special interest in educating patients and their families regarding cardiovascular disease processes. In addition to her role in Cardiac Surgery, she also collaborates with Cardiology to ensure adequate cardiac work-up for potential kidney and liver transplant patients to reduce peri-transplant cardiac events and improve organ transplant outcomes.
