Jauhleene Chamu, MD, is an assistant professor in anesthesiology at the GW School of Medicine & Health Sciences within both the general anesthesia and regional anesthesia departments at The GW Medical Faculty Associates.
Dr. Chamu graduated from Florida Atlantic University’s Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine before completing her residency at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals where she served as chief resident. She then completed fellowship training in regional anesthesiology and acute pain medicine from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center before returning to University Hospitals as a staff anesthesiologist. With special interest in regional anesthesia and education, she served as associate fellowship director for their regional anesthesia fellowship. In that role, she developed the curriculum, structured rotations and matched their first regional fellow. She has also participated in resident education, recruitment and development. Her interest in academia manifests through a book chapter publication, lectures across disciplines, instruction of regional anesthesia workshops and presentations at both regional and national levels.
Apart from her career interests, Dr. Chamu enjoys international travel, food culture, and wellness practices.
